Summary Syed Munawar Hasan says India is diverting river water to Pakistan.
Ameer Jamaat e Islami Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the flood situation in Pakistan was being caused by India’s diverting river waters to this country and not by rains.India is controlling the waters of Pakistani rivers because of its unlawful occupation of Kashmir and has built dozens of dams over these rivers and is in a position to either turn our lands a desert by stopping water or cause floods by releasing rain water to this country, he said in his address to the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque.He stressed upon the government to stage worldwide protest against India and snap trade and other ties with that country till it restored our share of river waters.The JI Ameer appreciated Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry taking suo moto notice of the Balochistan situation and said the government was not serious in resolving the issues referred to by the Chief Justice and was instead announcing meaningless packages.In fact, he said the Balochistan ministers were responsible for the lawlessness and uprising in the province but the federal government,instead of taking them to task, was giving protecting them. He stressed upon the PML(N) and the JUI (F) to take solid steps for mitigating the sufferings of the Blochistan people.He said the country would have to adopt self reliance to get rid of the interest based economy and the hold of the IMF.Syed Munawar Hasan said that the secular and amoral culture in the country had made it difficult to adopt the path of virtue while sinning was quite easy. The rulers were giving preference to US slavery and were promoting a system that was in conflict with the Quran and the Sunnah. The masses must revolt against the rulers for bringing about a change, he added.Later, while speaking at the Ghaibana Namaze Janaza of the Kashmiri couple Engineer Ahsan Aziz and his wife martyred in a drone attack, the JI Ameer said that it would be naïve to expect the United Nations stop drone attacks. He said if the Pakistani rulers had any sense of national honour and courage, they should order downing of the drones in line with the parliament’s resolution.He said according to US estimates, almost 98 per cent of those being killed by drones were innocent but the cowardly rulers were not ready to present their case to the world due to US fear.He said it was an irony that the armies of the 56 Muslim countries were doing nothing for the Muslims of Palestine, Kashmir, Myanmar and Afghanistan who were being massacres. Instead, these armies were siding with the tyrant.
