Summary The KPK govt has decided to start three power generation projects during current financial year.
The KPK government of has decided to kick off the construction of three small dams to produce 48 mega watts of electricity with current financial year.The sources said that the province would generate some 937 mega watts of electricity from 14 small dams which would be constructed by 2025.The source also revealed that so far work of five small dams have been completed , which are producing 189 mw of electricity.Provincial Development Working Party has given the approval of these water reservoirs, on which work would be commenced within the current financial year and would be completed during five years.The proposed three projects would produce some 48 mega watts electricity as reservoir at Lower Dir would generate 31 mw, project at Shangla would produce 10 mega watts and dam at Jabori would give seven mw.The CM KP has announced the action plan to fulfill the short fall of electricity under which eight small dams would be constructed from which 628 mega watts power production.These eight projects including Matal Tan Hydro Power Swat with potential of 84 mw of electricity, Sharmay Dir would produce 115 mega watts, Koto Dir would generate 31, Kohistan project would add up 10 mega watts, Jabbri Mansehra would give eight mw, Shoshai Chitral project would offer 114 mw , Shagoshan Chitral would produce 132 mega watts and Lavi Chitral would generate 69 mega watts of electricity.Under the action plan of CM, Mataltan Power Project has been completed, which was inaugurated in May this year.
