Summary More than three thousand policemen have will be deputed on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali rally.

The Lahore District Administration has finalised the security plan for the rally on the occasion of observing the martyrdom day of Hazarat Ali (R.A).The security checking would be conducted in four layers while a contingent of more than 3,000 police personnel will be deployed to ensure strict security on the 3 kilometres of the rally.The district administration in Lahore has also decided to place a ban on pillion riding within one kilometer range of Youm-e-Ali rallyThe pillion riding ban has been enforced from 20th Ramzan (Aug 9) to 21st Ramzan (Aug 10) under section 144 as security measures.However, during the pillion riding ban, women, the elderly, children and journalists would be exempted from the ban.According to DIG Operations Rai Muhammad Tahir, the security plan has been chalked out after a detailed consultation with the ulemas and the district administration.Tahir said any fault found in the plan would be removed before 20th Ramzan.
