Summary CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry Thursday said bar associations play vital role in dispensation of justice.
He expressed these views while meeting a seven members delegation of Rawalpindi District Bar Association headed by its President, Sajid Ilyas Bhatti and consisting of other office bearers and executive members who called on Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry at Supreme Court Building, Islamabad.While praising the services rendered by Rawalpindi Bar for their profession, the Chief Justice stated that the Bar is an active, committed and professional body which played effective role for the achievement of the cause of independence of judiciary, supremacy of Constitution and Rule of law in our country.The members of the delegation briefed him about the Bar and requested the Chief Justice to inaugurate the newly constructed Judicial Complex at Rawalpindi. The Chief Justice accepted their request and told them that the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Lahore may also be requested to fix a convenient date for inauguration.The delegation admired Chief Justice’s commitment, devotion and dedication for the cause of justice.They also praised his role for enhancing public confidence in judiciary and admired the measures taken for eliminating corruption from the judiciary.
