Summary Affluent persons tortured a man and his brother who refused to do vani their daughter.

Later, a local mediation gathering of affluent people of the village not only imposed fine worth Rs 25,000 on the family of Nasir but also decided to vani his sister named Rahila.The opposite party demanded that the girl has come to the age of 9; so she should be wedded. The father and uncle of the girl refused to follow the so-called order of the mediation meeting.At this, some affluent people Muhammad Hashim, Arif, Ghulam Shabbir, Ghulam Ali and Muhammad Ismaeel took the girl’s father and the uncle at their den and brutally tortured them after tying with ropes. The injured were shifted to hospital while police have registered case against responsible ones.The affected persons complained that the police were not taking action due to social pressure and prestige of local lords.
