Summary Water supply to Islamabad from Khanpur Dam remained shut due to non-payment of bill by CDA.
According to details, electricity was disconnected by IESCO at the Sangjani Filtration Plant due to non-payment of electricity bill by the Capital Development Authority (CDA). Water supply to several sectors of Islamabad remained shut for the 4th consecutive day.Meanwhile, Islamabad will witness more water shortage in the coming days as underground water level will become low while the Met office has predicted that the Monsoon will start late this season. However, CDA has plenty of water stored at the Simly Dam which will be used during that period.
