Joint inquiry team formed to investigate Sufi Muhammad

The government has constituted a joint inquiry team to investigate Sufi Muhammad, chief of the banned Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi (TNSM). Sufi went underground soon after the Operation Rah-e-Rast begun against militants in Swat. During this time he kept his activities continued and held meetings with his organizations members after appearing in Peshawar few days back. He has been shifted to an unknown location along with his two sons from City Town Peshawar. Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that Sufi was arrested for he could create a law and order situation. According to the NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar a case would be registered against Sufi when investigations completed. He said that Sufi had sided with terrorists instead of the government.
