Summary Governor Faisal Karim Kundi urges needs for cooperation between the provincial and federal governments
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has stressed the need for cooperation between the provincial and federal governments, saying that the province’s problems can only be addressed through better relations and mutual understanding, while terrorism must be fought through joint efforts.
Speaking to the media in Swabi, the governor said his government was working to promote cordial relations with the federation and other provinces. He noted that relations between the provincial and federal governments had remained strained during the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
Kundi emphasised that coordinated action against terrorism, improvements in education and healthcare, and institutional reforms were essential for the province’s progress.
He also called for action against encroachments in accordance with the law, stressing that legal provisions should be applied equally to everyone.
Paying tribute to the security forces, the governor said their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism were unforgettable.
Separately, addressing the trophy unveiling ceremony of the Zalmi Madrasa Cricket League at the Governor House in Peshawar, Kundi highlighted the role of sports in keeping young people away from extremism and engaging them in positive activities.
He said madrasa students should also be provided with opportunities to participate in sports, adding that such initiatives could encourage healthy activities and promote social inclusion.
The governor also proposed holding the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Peshawar, saying the event could convey a positive message of peace to the international community.
