NEW YORK (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Monday arrived in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The PM will address the United Nations General Assembly on September 25. He will present Pakistan’s position on the regional and global security situation.
Shehbaz Sharif will emphasise the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful resolution of conflicts. He will highlight Pakistan's diplomatic and mediation efforts to reduce tensions and promote peace and stability in the region.
Pakistan's priorities will be presented on important issues including climate change, the war on terrorism, and global economic challenges.
The PM will draw the attention of the international community to the issues of occupied Kashmir and Palestine.
He will hold bilateral meetings with various world leaders and the UN Secretary-General who are attending the meeting.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, said multilateral cooperation, climate change and the current global situation would also be part of PM Shehbaz's speech.
He is also expected to meet several world leaders during the visit, the ambassador said.
Ahmad said Pakistan was also working to arrange a meeting between Shehbaz and Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook.
The prime minister's visit comes as the UNGA high-level session gets under way in New York, with the Middle East conflict expected to figure prominently in discussions between world leaders.
