LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s daughter Mahnoor Safdar’s nikah ceremony is under way at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra residence, with senior political figures and members of the family arriving for the private gathering.

Mahnoor is set to marry Azan Jabbar, the son of businessman Jabbar Khalid, in a ceremony attended by close relatives and invited family guests.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived at Jati Umra to attend the ceremony, according to sources. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb also reached the residence for the event.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is also present at Jati Umra, along with his sons Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, sources said.

Captain (r) Muhammad Safdar, Mahnoor’s father, is also among the family members attending the ceremony.

The nikah has been arranged as a close family affair, with only members of the Sharif family, relatives and selected guests invited to the event.

The ceremony comes only days after Mahnoor completed her graduation in Anthropology from SOAS University of London. Earlier this month, Maryam travelled to London to attend her youngest daughter’s graduation ceremony, describing the occasion as a moment of immense pride and happiness for the family.

Mahnoor, the youngest of Maryam Nawaz and Captain Muhammad Safdar’s three children, studied at SOAS University from 2023 to 2026.

The family’s latest high-profile wedding celebration was that of Mahnoor’s brother, Junaid Safdar, who married Shanzey Ali Rohail in January. The celebrations for Junaid’s wedding continued over several days and were held at various venues, including the Sharif family’s Jati Umra estate.
