Summary Says inflation has made life of common man difficult
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) emir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said inflation has the life of people a hell.
Speaking to the media after meeting with industrialists and traders here on Monday, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said the law and order situation in the country is also very bad.
He said the price of everything increases as petrol becomes more expensive, so the petroleum levy should be abolished, loadshedding should be eliminated, and electricity and bread should be made cheaper.
He said as a result of JI’s sit-in against IPPs, the people got relief in the electricity sector. It is not possible that there is a sit-in and no one is affected.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said sit-ins are ongoing in Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, Chitral, Hyderabad and Quetta, while protests are also taking place in various districts including Faisalabad and Islamabad.
He claimed that no political party except Jamaat-e-Islami has come out for the people. The country has the capacity to generate 49,000 megawatts of electricity, yet the worst loadshedding continues.
He said the Sharif family has ruined the country. He announced that a nationwide strike would be held on September 3 for the rights of the people.
He appealed to the business community to fully support the strike and said that the Jamaat-e-Islami committee is in contact with all organisations, including the Traders' Association.
