KARACHI (Web Desk) - France has permanently closed its consulate in Karachi, with the French Consulate formally announcing the closure.

In a farewell message to the city, the consulate said, “Goodbye Karachi.” The French and European Union flags have also been removed from the consulate building.

Last month, French Consul General in Karachi Alexis, speaking at an event held to mark France’s National Day, said the French government had decided to close the Consul General’s office in Karachi for budgetary reasons.
