LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has warmly welcomed the defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, describing it as a historic turning point for the Muslim world.
In a statement, Maryam Nawaz praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their efforts to promote unity among Muslim nations.
She said the agreement, announced from the holy city of Makkah, sends a strong message that the Muslim world stands united. She described the coming together of three major economic, military and political powers as encouraging news for the entire Muslim Ummah.

The chief minister said the joint defence pact marked the beginning of a new chapter in the Islamic world, adding that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir had elevated the nation's prestige through close cooperation with the Saudi and Turkish leadership.
Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan would continue to champion Muslim unity and collective security at the international level. She added that the mutual defence agreement would strengthen regional security while reinforcing solidarity across the Muslim world.
She further stated that an attack on any one member would be regarded as an attack on all, saying the Makkah defence agreement had reaffirmed the unity of the Islamic world. She added that Pakistan would continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting Muslim unity, collective security and mutual trust.
