US special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke Wednesday said Pervez Musharrafs case is Pakistans internal issue and added that the US respects Pakistans judiciary and free media. Talking to media in Islamabad, Holbrooke termed Pakistans judiciary is free to make decision about Former President Pervez Musharraf. He further said Pervez Musharraf is now history and that US will not come to defend him. During a press conference later Richard Holbrooke said, United States of America (USA) will provide $65 million dollar to Pakistan, immediately, for rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of military hit areas of NWFP, while $100 million would be granted within next few weeks. The US, after assessment of loss in such areas, initiated aid for Pakistan, said Holbrooke, and added that $45 million would be granted for basic structure, $23 million for migrants, $30 million for social security and others. The US envoy said his country had pledged one billion dollar for overall aid to Pakistan, while $320 million would be granted for IDPs, separately. The US was also striving for financial assistance to Pakistan from Friends of Pakistan countries, he added.
