Summary PM Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Tehran to attend Ayatollah Khamenei’s funeral, offer condolences to Iran’s leadership and reaffirm Pakistan’s solidarity with the Iranian people.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Tehran on Friday to participate in the funeral rites of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei.
The prime minister is accompanied by Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPP Secretary General Nayyer Hussain Bukhari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, the prime minister will convey heartfelt condolences to the Iranian leadership and the bereaved families.
He will also reaffirm Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the brotherly people of Iran during this period of mourning.
Following his visit to Tehran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Istanbul for a bilateral visit to Turkey.
