LONDON (Web Desk) – Globally renowned advisory firm Henley and Partners has released its latest ranking of the world’s most powerful passports for July to December 2026, with Asian countries once again dominating the list, while Pakistan’s passport remained among the weakest globally.

According to the report, the passport of Singapore retained its position as the world’s most powerful passport. Singaporean citizens can travel to 192 countries visa-free or with visa-on-arrival access, keeping the country at the top of the ranking.

The passports of the United Arab Emirates, Japan and South Korea jointly secured second place, with passport holders enjoying visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 188 destinations.

Sweden ranked third, allowing access to 187 countries without requiring a prior visa.

Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain shared fourth place, with their passport holders able to access 186 countries visa-free.

Greece, Austria, Malta, Portugal and Switzerland ranked fifth, with citizens of these countries able to travel to 185 destinations without a visa.

Pakistan ranked most polluted country in 2025, data shows

The report stated that the rankings are based on the number of destinations passport holders can access worldwide through visa-free or visa-on-arrival arrangements.

It further noted that the passport of the United States slipped to 10th place this year, despite historically being considered among the world’s strongest passports.

According to the firm, the UAE passport recorded the most significant improvement over the past decade, climbing 40 places to become the world’s second most powerful passport.

Meanwhile, Pakistan remained among the weakest-ranked passports. The report placed Pakistan at 100th position, with Pakistani citizens able to travel to only 30 countries visa-free or with simplified visa access.

After Pakistan, Iraq ranked 101st, Syria 102nd, while Afghanistan ranked 103rd, making it the world’s weakest passport.

The report also noted that Yemen, Somalia, Nepal, North Korea, Bangladesh, Palestine, Iran, Eritrea, Sri Lanka and Libya all ranked above Pakistan in the latest passport index.
