LAHORE (Dunya News) - Chairman of the Punjab Group Mian Amer Mahmood discussed matters of mutual interest with Chinese Consul General Sun Weidong and his assistant Wang Yaqiang who called on him here.

They exchanged views on educational cooperation and the role of youth in strengthening bilateral ties. It was noted that China launched a scholarship programme for the students of the University of Central Punjab three years ago, which continues to operate successfully.

The Chinese Consul General praised Mian Amer Mahmood's contributions to the field of education and commended his vision. He said that the University of Central Punjab and Punjab Group of Colleges are playing a vital role in shaping the nation's future by enhancing the intellectual capabilities of students.

He added that students from these institutions have consistently demonstrated outstanding academic performance, while the University of Central Punjab has achieved notable success in higher education and earned recognition both nationally and internationally.

The Consul General also expressed China's readiness to further expand cooperation in the education sector. He emphasized that Pakistan-China relations are a timeless example of friendship passed down from generation to generation.

He noted that both the countries have stood by each other through difficult times and that their friendship is stronger today than ever before.

Later, Consul General Weidong and Mian Amir Mahmood exchanged commemorative gifts.
