Riots erupted in several cities of Punjab during the protests against the load shedding on Tuesday. Four Bogies of a passenger train were torched in Jhang while clashes between police and people were witnessed in many cities. Protesters in Jhang, Kabirwala and Hujra Shah Muqeem torched the WAPDA offices and a shutter down strike was observed across the province. In Lahore 80 percent markets remained closed. Hall Road, Shah Alam Market, Mall Road, Anarkali, Urdu Bazar and Circular Road remained closed. Partial strike was observed on Brandther Road. Multan, Khaniwal, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Wazir Abad, Jehlum, Toba Tek Singh, Arif Wala, Kasur, Okara and Sailkot witnessed shutter down strike and protests against the power breakdown. Police baton-charged the protestors and several were injured in firing. In Jhang angry protesters torched the office of SDO and WAPDA. Police did the aerial firing near police station. Several people were arrested in clashes with police. In Nur Pur people burnt the tyres. In Khaniwal Trader Association took out a rally and blocked traffic. In Arif Wala people destroyed the shops. In Faisalabad protestors stopped a passenger train and broke mirrors. In Multan people staged a hunger camp and shouted slogans against the government.
