RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held talks with Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe Haikal on Tuesday, with both sides agreeing to further strengthen bilateral military cooperation and defence ties.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Haikal was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the armed forces upon his arrival at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, the two military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, defence cooperation and avenues for enhancing bilateral military relations.

The talks focused on expanding professional engagements between the armed forces of the two countries, increasing training collaboration and strengthening institutional linkages.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed the importance of Pakistan’s longstanding and friendly relations with Lebanon, underscoring the Pakistan Army’s commitment to broadening defence cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces.

General Haikal praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged their contributions to regional peace, stability and international peacekeeping missions.
