RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Security forces killed 27 militants during a large-scale operation conducted over the past 72 hours in North Waziristan, according to a statement issued by the military’s media wing.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security personnel carried out multiple intelligence-based operations in the Miranshah area of North Waziristan, targeting suspected militant hideouts across different locations.

According to the military, intense exchanges of fire took place during the operations, resulting in the killing of 27 militants. Security officials also said a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the sites targeted during the operation.

The ISPR stated that those killed had allegedly been involved in multiple militant activities and targeted attacks against civilians.

The military further said the operation was linked to efforts to bring those responsible for the killing of Malik Saifullah Dawar to justice, stating that the perpetrators had been tracked down during the operation.

Authorities said clearance and search operations remain underway in the area to locate any remaining suspects and eliminate militant presence completely.

According to the statement, operations under the national counter-terrorism strategy will continue, with officials reiterating their commitment to pursuing militant groups and dismantling networks involved in violence.

The latest operation comes amid continued security activity in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where authorities have intensified intelligence-led actions against militant groups in recent months.
