QUETTA (Dunya News) - At least 20 people were injured after an explosion occurred near a railway track close to Chaman Phatak in Quetta on Sunday, police officials said.

Authorities confirmed that a train sustained partial damage in the blast, while around 10 parked vehicles in the vicinity were also damaged. The force of the explosion also shattered windows and glass panels of nearby buildings.

Following the incident, an emergency was declared in government hospitals across Quetta, with doctors and medical staff called in to deal with the injured.

Railway officials said the Peshawar-bound Jaffar Express was halted at Quetta Railway Station as a precautionary step after the explosion.

Babar Yousafzai, spokesperson for the provincial home minister, said all relevant institutions had been placed on high alert in response to the incident.

He also urged the public to avoid gathering near the blast site to ensure safety and allow rescue and emergency teams to carry out operations without obstruction.
