ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Rayan Wazir, the daughter of former Pakistani ambassador Ayaz Wazir, has died in a traffic accident in the federal capital.
According to rescue sources, the tragic incident occurred near the Parade Ground Metro Station in the federal capital when a car reportedly went out of control due to overspeeding and mounted the footpath.
Sources said the woman was allegedly using a mobile phone at the time of the accident and died at the scene.
She was later identified as Rayan Wazir, daughter of former ambassador Ayaz Wazir.
Rescue personnel shifted the body to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital, where necessary legal formalities were completed before it was handed over to the family.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the accident.
Authorities said incidents involving overspeeding and the use of mobile phones while driving continue to be a significant road safety concern in Islamabad.
