Summary Voting is taking place for five district council member seats, two chairman seats, two vice-chairman seats, and four general ward member seats.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Voting is underway for by-elections on 13 local government seats across nine districts of Sindh, including Hyderabad.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, polling began at 8:00 am and will continue until 4:00 pm without interruption.
The elections are being held in Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Dadu, Sujawal, Sukkur, Naushahro Feroze, Mirpurkhas, Jacobabad and Ghotki districts.
Officials said voting is taking place for five district council member seats, two chairman seats, two vice-chairman seats, and four general ward member seats.
The Election Commission added that a total of 98,808 voters are registered for these by-elections, including 53,832 male and 44,976 female voters. A total of 73 polling stations have been set up, with 59 declared highly sensitive and 11 sensitive.
It further stated that candidates on 45 seats have already been elected unopposed, including eight chairmen and six vice-chairmen.
