Summary Atta Tarar calls Pahalgam incident a false flag operation, says Pakistan remains a frontline state against terrorism and India avoided impartial investigation
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said the Pahalgam incident was a false flag operation, alleging that India avoided impartial investigations while Pakistan continued to play the role of a frontline state against terrorism with unmatched sacrifices.
Addressing a seminar on “Marka-e-Haq” at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, Atta Tarar said Pakistan had rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the global war against terrorism, adding that India was attempting to mislead the international community by blaming Pakistan for its internal failures and domestic challenges.
He said the Pakistani nation, armed forces and state institutions demonstrated complete unity during “Marka-e-Haq”, while terrorism in India remained its own internal issue. According to him, the Indian government had consistently tried to externalize its internal crises and failures by leveling allegations against Pakistan.
The federal minister said India imposed unprovoked aggression on Pakistan, but the country responded with responsibility, wisdom and national unity. Referring to the Pahalgam incident, Atta Tarar said Pakistan was accused immediately without any investigation despite the fact that the Prime Minister of Pakistan had offered cooperation for a transparent inquiry.
He claimed India avoided any neutral investigation because the Pahalgam incident was in fact a “false flag operation”. He further stated that the Pahalgam area was located far from the border and remained under strong Indian military control, yet Pakistan was blamed for the incident.
Atta Tarar maintained that the episode had damaged India’s credibility at the international level. He said complete harmony among state institutions remained Pakistan’s greatest strength, adding that the country’s civil and military leadership was on the same page in dealing with challenges.
Pahalgam false flag: India fails to substantiate allegations against Pakistan
He praised the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, saying his role in handling national challenges was commendable. The minister also reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir was an internationally recognized dispute with existing United Nations resolutions, stressing that the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination could not be suppressed.
He urged the international community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue. Atta Tarar further said Pakistani media displayed responsible journalism during “Marka-e-Haq”, whereas Indian media harmed its own credibility through what he described as irresponsible and absurd reporting.
He added that Pakistani youth effectively used social media as a tool to counter the Indian narrative. The information minister also alleged that a country accusing Pakistan of terrorism had itself been linked to incidents involving the killings of Sikh leaders in Canada and other countries.
He said the arrest of Kulbhushan Jadhav in Pakistan remained undeniable proof of what he termed India’s terrorist mindset.
