LHC orders transfer and posting of 98 senior civil judges across Punjab

Summary Lahore High Court has transferred and posted 98 senior civil judges across Punjab, directing them to assume duties by May 14 with interim arrangements.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court has ordered the transfer and posting of 98 senior civil judges across Punjab, reshuffling judicial assignments in multiple divisions.

The notification, issued by Registrar Raja Qamar uz Zaman following approval from the Chief Justice, covers appointments in family, criminal and civil divisions throughout the province.

According to the directive, the transferred judges have been instructed to assume charge of their new postings by May 14.

In addition, interim arrangements have been made in several districts. The additional charge of Senior Civil Judge Vehari has been assigned to a judge from the criminal division, while in districts including Chakwal, Chiniot, Khushab, Lodhran, Rahim Yar Khan and Sialkot, family division responsibilities have been temporarily handed to senior civil judges from criminal divisions.

These additional assignments will remain in place until further orders, ensuring continuity of judicial proceedings in the affected courts.
