LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said any attempt to cross Pakistan’s “red line” had been decisively thwarted by the country’s armed forces.
Addressing a ceremony at the Wagah Border marking one year of ‘Maarka-e-Haq’, she said the world today recognises Pakistan’s capabilities, adding that the country’s diplomatic efforts had helped avert a wider global conflict.
She emphasised that there would be no compromise on national security, stating that the nation stands united like a “Bunyan-un-Marsoos” in defence of the homeland.
Paying tribute to martyrs, the chief minister saluted their families and described the sacrifices of fallen soldiers as a source of national pride.
Maryam Nawaz also congratulated the nation on completing one year of ‘Maarka-e-Haq’, reiterating that peace and security remain Pakistan’s core red lines.
She praised the leadership of Asim Munir, commending the armed forces for what she described as a decisive response against India during the conflict.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of citizens, with patriotic enthusiasm and slogans echoing throughout the venue.
