LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in her message on World Migratory Bird Day, said beautiful migratory birds are a priceless gift of nature that enhance the beauty of the environment by travelling from distant regions.

She said migratory birds play an important role in maintaining ecological balance and also contribute to land fertility, adding that protection of the natural environment is essential for their survival.

The Punjab chief minister stated that the Wildlife Force in Punjab is actively working for the protection of migratory birds and other natural biological assets, while a crackdown against those involved in illegal hunting of birds is continuing.

She further said that the Punjab government is taking environment-friendly, effective and long-term measures to ensure safe habitats for migratory birds, protect forests and address challenges faced by wildlife.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif urged citizens to act responsibly and play an active role in protecting migratory birds and other wildlife, saying birds are a beautiful heritage of nature and their protection is a collective responsibility.
