KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has termed 'Marka-e-Haq' a golden chapter in Pakistan’s history, saying the nation demonstrated unity, determination, and resolve during the conflict.
A commemorative ceremony marking one year of the success of “Marka-e-Haq” was held in Karachi under the Sindh government.
The event was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, members of the assembly, senior civil and military officials, and other notable personalities.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem, while a documentary on the success of “Marka-e-Haq” was also presented.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlights national unity
Addressing the ceremony, the PPP chairman said that during “Marka-e-Haq,” every Pakistani played their role effectively, and the nation defeated the enemy on the battlefield.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that Pakistani diplomats also performed strongly on the diplomatic front and conveyed a clear message to the world that the Pakistani nation will not bow down.
He added that the success was the result of national unity, sacrifices, and collective struggle, which is a matter of pride for the entire nation.
Nation gave strong response to aggression: Murad Ali Shah
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, while addressing the ceremony, said that a year ago India cast an evil eye on Pakistan, and the entire nation and armed forces responded in unity.
He said that within hours, India received a response that made it realize its position, adding that the nation stood united and faced the situation with determination.
Murad Ali Shah said that India initiated an operation and attempted to blame Pakistan, while Pakistan has always advocated peace.
He stated that in the first week of May, India carried out military action, but Pakistani forces responded effectively and shot down several enemy aircraft, including Rafale jets, which were considered a source of pride for India.
He added that even people in rural areas were countering enemy drones, and Pakistan’s preparedness proved more effective than India’s. He said Indian media spread propaganda, falsely claiming that Karachi Port was targeted, while Pakistani media acted responsibly.

The chief minister said that the conflict between Pakistan and India dates back to 1947, and Pakistan has always adopted a defensive strategy. He credited Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for laying the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear program and Benazir Bhutto for advancing missile development.
He added that after “Marka-e-Haq,” Pakistan established its position globally as a strong nation and also played an important role in international affairs, including facilitating dialogue between countries such as the United States and Iran.
Armed forces proved Pakistan’s defense is strong: Sharjeel Memon
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, speaking at the event, said that the Pakistan Army gave a strong response to the enemy during “Ma’raka-e-Haq,” adding that the day was no less than a celebration for the nation.
He said Pakistan is a strong country and no one can cast an evil eye on it, while the armed forces sent a clear message to the world about the country’s strength.
He stated that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto made Pakistan a nuclear power and Benazir Bhutto laid the foundation for missile technology, while Bilawal Bhutto Zardari effectively presented Pakistan’s stance at the global level.
Sharjeel Memon added that after “Marka-e-Haq,” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly represented Pakistan’s case internationally and raised the Kashmir issue effectively during his visit to India.
He said the ruling party in India reacted strongly against Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, issuing statements and political criticism, while Indian media spread negative and misleading reports and Pakistani media played a responsible role.
He further said that claims on some Indian channels about damage to Lahore and Karachi were false and baseless, adding that the Pakistan Air Force gave a strong response during “Ma’raka-e-Haq” and proved the country’s defense capability.
