LAHORE (Web Desk) - The Punjab government has issued new rules and regulations for kite flying in 2027, setting December 30, 2026 as the deadline for implementation to ensure public safety.

The measures have been introduced on the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to safeguard the lives and property of citizens.

Compliance with these regulations has been made mandatory for all residents, building owners, and event organizers.

According to the new rules, kite flying will only be allowed on strong and secure rooftops, with a minimum boundary wall height of three and a half feet.

Special emphasis has been placed on child safety, with parents and guardians instructed to maintain constant supervision and prevent children from approaching roof edges unattended.

Strict bans have also been imposed on running, jumping, hanging from edges, and aggressive kite catching on rooftops.

Additionally, gathering more people than the roof’s capacity has been prohibited.
