ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Wednesday that even a year on, India has failed to provide even a single evidence for its allegations against Pakistan over the Pahalgam attack.
The attack, which took place on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, killed 26 people, mostly tourists, and was among the deadliest in the region in decades.
In a statement marking the anniversary of the incident, Tarar said India had neither provided solid proof nor offered satisfactory explanations regarding the Pahalgam attack. He also pointed out that New Delhi rejected Pakistan’s proposal for a neutral and transparent investigation, raising concerns about the credibility of its claims.
“The false flag operation in Pahalgam reflects a mindset that is hollow — driven by false pride, arrogance and greed,” he continued.
Tarar emphasized that Pakistan itself has long been a victim of terrorism and had expressed sympathy with those affected by the attack.
He also questioned how the case’s first report was registered within minutes of the incident and highlighted concerns raised by analysts over security lapses at the site.
“India’s issue is that it presents its internal matters as external ones and its external matters as internal. A clear example of this is terrorism,” Tarar said.
He added, “Terrorism is India’s internal issue, yet it portrays it as an external problem. Similarly, the Kashmir issue is an international issue but India presents it as an internal one.”
