First Hajj flight departs for Saudi Arabia from Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan has officially started its Hajj operations, with the first flight departed from Karachi airport for Saudi Arabia in the wee hours of Saturday. Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi was present at the airport to see off the pilgrims.

Addressing a special ceremony arranged to see off the Hajj pilgrims at the Karachi airport, Governor Nehal Hashmi said that those going for Hajj are very fortunate people. He urged all pilgrims to pray for the country’s progress and well-being of those living in Pakistan.

Governor Sindh stated that Pakistan is the second-largest country in terms of people performing Hajj, and Pakistanis rank first in performing Umrah.

He further said that in the past, pilgrims used to travel on foot, then by sea, and now by airplanes, allowing them to reach their destination within a few hours. Nehal Hashmi, said that Hajj is a test of hardships and patience, and pilgrims should pray for the country’s security.
