Kohat Police release photos of two suspects in Dr Mehwish murder case. DPO says accused identified through evidence; raids underway as police seek public help for arrest
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Kohat Police have released photographs of the suspects wanted in the murder of Dr Mehwish, as two accused remain at large in the high-profile case.
District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi said the suspects nominated in the case are Hayat Gul and Saif Ali Khan, who have been in hiding since the incident.
He stated that both accused were identified through various pieces of evidence and multiple investigative angles, adding that they are close friends.
According to police, the prime suspect Hayat Gul had an altercation with Dr Mahwish at Kohat Hospital over the medical examination of a patient.

Initial investigations revealed that after Iftar, when Dr Mahwish was heading home from the hospital, unidentified individuals opened fire on her a short distance away from the facility, resulting in her death.
The DPO said raids are being conducted at different locations to arrest the suspects and the search operation is ongoing.
Police have appealed to the public to immediately inform the nearest police station or the police helpline if they have any information regarding the whereabouts of the accused.
