Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrives in Islamabad for a historic two-day visit as Pakistan prepares for back-to-back engagements with Central Asian leaders.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is set to arrive in Islamabad today on his first-ever official two-day visit to Pakistan, scheduled for February 3 and 4, marking a historic milestone in bilateral relations.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit is taking place at the special invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During his stay, President Tokayev will meet President Asif Ali Zardari and hold detailed bilateral talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, focusing on strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.
President Tokayev will also address the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum, bringing together business leaders, investors, and traders from both countries to explore new trade and investment opportunities.
He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including senior cabinet members and top officials, aimed at translating agreements into practical cooperation.
The Foreign Office stated that the visit offers an important opportunity for a comprehensive review of Pakistan–Kazakhstan relations, with discussions expected on trade, logistics, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts, and collaboration at regional and international forums.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is scheduled to visit Pakistan on February 5 and 6.
The visit aims to further expand growing political and economic ties, with high-level talks in Islamabad focused on increasing bilateral trade to $2 billion in the coming years.
As part of the visit, the Uzbekistan–Pakistan Business Forum and the 'Made in Uzbekistan' exhibition will also be held in Islamabad to promote industrial, trade, and investment cooperation.
