Three arrested in Bhati Gate sewer tragedy case

Police registered a case and arrested three officials after a mother and daughter died falling into an open sewer manhole in Lahore’s Bhati Gate area.
LAHORE (Web Desk) - Police have registered a case over the death of a mother and her daughter who fell into a sewer line in the Bhati Gate area, acting on the statement of the victims’ father, Sajid Hussain.
The case has been registered under Section 322 against three nominated suspects: Project Manager Asghar Sandhu, Safety In-charge Hanzala alias Daniyal, and Site In-charge Ahmed Nawaz.

Three nominated persons have been Arrested.

According to the complainant, his son-in-law informed him by phone that Saadia and her daughter had fallen into a sewer line.
In his statement, Sajid Hussain alleged that the suspects left a manhole open due to negligence and carelessness, which led to the fatal incident. Police later arrested all three nominated accused. The case was registered on the statement of the deceased woman’s father, and further investigation is under way.
