The spokesperson said the closures were aimed at ensuring the safety of life and property
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Dense fog has engulfed large parts of Punjab, reducing visibility on highways and prompting authorities to close several motorways.
According to a spokesperson for the Motorways Central Region, the M-3 motorway from Faizpur to Jaranwala, the M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakeem and from Gojra to Abdul Hakeem, the M-5 from Multan to Zahir Pir, and the stretch from Multan to Sukkur were closed due to fog.
Similarly, sections of the M-5 motorway from Multan to Dera Ismail Khan and from Rahim Yar Khan to Rohri were also shut as dense fog significantly reduced visibility.
The spokesperson said the closures were aimed at ensuring the safety of life and property, warning that lane violations in foggy conditions could lead to serious accidents.
Road users were urged to strictly follow lane discipline and prefer travelling during daytime hours.
