Prisoners killings: SC seeks explanation

Supreme Court accepted an appeal for hearing and sought reply from officials over missing persons.

The Apex Court has also sought explanation from parties including ISI against killings of prisoners of Adyala Jail who were allegedly taken away by secret agencies.It was said in the appeal moved by Tariq Asad Advocate that 11 persons released from Adyala Jail had been taken into custody by secret agencies out of whom four have died.Three-member bench led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry remarked that the matter is very serious; how the casualties are possible in the custody of law enforcement institutions.The Attorney General said that he has received the notice today, seeking time for explanation. The ISI Director Legal Commander Shahbaz also appeared in the court.The court was adjourned till January 30.
