Punjab launches digital exam reforms including e-marking, digital attendance, item banks and secure answer sheets.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab has formally launched a sweeping programme of digital examination reforms across all educational boards, with system analysts from every board summoned for an important briefing session.
According to the Task Force Committee on Boards, chaired by Muzzammil Mahmood, the provincial government has initiated decisive steps to modernise the examination framework and ensure greater transparency and accuracy in assessment processes.
A special training and briefing session will be held at the Lahore Board on 13 December 2025. Representatives from all Punjab education boards — Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Sahiwal — will participate, following the model used by the Federal Board.
The planned briefing aims to automate digital assessment and paper-setting procedures. Key digital initiatives being introduced include on-screen marking (e-marking) to ensure faster and more accurate results.
A Digital Attendance Management System (DAMS) will streamline attendance at examination centres, while a Question Item Bank (QIB) will support the creation of high-quality, secure examination papers.
Custom-printed answer sheets with unique security codes, QR codes and watermarks will help eliminate cheating and forgery.
All system analysts and computer programmers from the relevant BISEs have been strictly instructed to attend the training/briefing session in Lahore on the scheduled date and time.
According to Lahore Board spokesperson Tahir Javed, the initiative marks “the beginning of a transparent new digital era” in Punjab’s examination system, boosting trust among students and parents.
