ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to domestic consumers from 5am to 10pm during winter.
The directive was shared in the National Assembly by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik, who responded to a call-attention notice regarding ongoing gas issues.
The minister said that the prime minister has instructed gas companies to prioritize domestic consumers and provide a stable supply window throughout the day, especially during cooking and heating times. He stated that compared to last year, gas load shedding has significantly decreased, and the government is focused on further improving distribution.
Ali Pervez Malik added that the government is actively monitoring areas where gas pressure remains low. “If anyone faces problems, they should point it out, we will resolve the issue,” he said.
The minister revealed that in November alone, authorities received 80,000 to 90,000 complaints, most of which were related to OGRA matters. He added that 70 to 80 percent of these complaints were resolved within just 36 hours.
Federal Minister for Petroleum assured that the department is fully committed to address citizens issues and to fulfill gas demand during winter months.
He reiterated that uninterrupted gas for households remains a top priority of the government’s energy management strategy.
