Federal Interior Minister ordered joint inquiry into deaths at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology.

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has ordered a joint inquiry into deaths of patients at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).The investigation team headed by Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Waqar Ahmad will submit its initial report within three days. The team will also investigate whether the medicines, whose reaction caused deaths to cardiac patients, were bought from local market or were imported.On the other hand the head of Punjab Institute of Cardiology investigation committee head Dr Javed Akram said the chance of sabotage cannot be ruled out in this regard. He claimed that the substance initially identified in the OIC medicine is not generally used in pharmaceutical factory.
