Tarar laments opposition's hollow resistance to 27th Amendment

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday criticized what he termed the opposition’s “hollow” resistance to the 27th Amendment, noting that they had not even read the bill.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, he said that making noise and crafting political narratives without studying the legislation serves no purpose. He added that instead of rejecting a comprehensive, clause-by-clause discussion, the opposition should have engaged in constructive debate.

Tarar hailed the Pakistan Army’s operation in Wana as a historic achievement, worthy of great appreciation. He announced that the Army had successfully rescued over 500 students, describing the mission as one that will be remembered globally and studied in military academies around the world.

Tarar emphasized that the operation sent a clear message to the enemy, noting that Pakistan had triumphed against an adversary four times its size. He added that the enemy was forced to abandon its positions and flee, underscoring that this proxy war poses no real challenge for Pakistan.
