Deluge hits villages of Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Arifwala, Chiniot, Khanewal

Over 200 villages submerged in floodwaters from Chenab, Sutlej and Ravi
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Over two hundred villages were submerged and thousands of villagers badly affected after floodwaters from Chenab, Sutlej and Ravi engulfed them after reaching Panjnad on Saturday night.
The water flow is recorded at 3 lakh, 69 thousand, 144 cusecs in Sutlej River, which is high level flood.
At the site of Head Ganda Singhwala, the water level reached 23 feet, and the water flow is recorded at 3 lakh, 11 thousand, 673 cusecs.
In Kasur, 130 villages came under water, affecting over one lakh people. In Bahawalnagar, there is a high flood at Bokahan Patan and at Head Sulemanki water flow is recorded one lakh, 37 thousand and 232 cusecs. Basti Allah Baksh and Basti Janan Wali, and Mari Mian Sahib and other villages are submerged after the breach of a dyke.
In Arifwala, there a high flood in Sutlej. Dozens of villages have been flooded. In Chiniot, more than 100 villages were flooded after Chenab experienced flood of high level. At Khanewal, several villages came under water after Ravi swelled, forcing people to take refuge in the open.
