CHILAS (Dunya News) - All five aboard a helicopter belonging to the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) government were killed when it crashed near Chilas on Monday.

According to GB government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq, the helicopter developed a technical fault and went down while attempting a test landing on a newly proposed helipad. Two pilots and three technical staff members were onboard the chopper, he added.

Diamer Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abdul Hameed issued a statement confirming deaths in the crash.

He, however, said the cause of the crash was yet to be ascertained, as the GB government spokesperson cited a technical fault.
