ZAFARWAL (Dunya News) – Nullah Dek has surged again due to heavy rains in its catchment areas and the authorities have issued flood alert in Zafarwal and its adjacent localities.
A red alert has been issued for areas adjacent to Nullah Dek in Zafarwal. Residents of Lahri, Sakroor, Deoli, Moga, and Sapwal villages have been ordered to evacuate immediately. Temporary shelters have been arranged at multiple locations for the affected people.
Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Ahmad Iqbal, visited the affected areas and urged the residents to fully cooperate with the administration.
It is pertinent to mention here that floodwaters from Nullah Dek on Friday (August 29) had wreaked havoc in Zafarwal, destroying dozens of homes and shops in Dewali area.
According to sources, a breach occurred in the only road connecting Zafarwal to Lehri, cutting off access to dozens of villages while rice crops on thousands of acres were destroyed.
