ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday visited the National Police Academy, where he inspected the construction work of an eleven-storey hostel currently under development.

The hostel is designed to have 126 rooms, with a five-month deadline set for its completion. Minister Naqvi emphasised that while speed is important, no compromise will be made on quality.

He also visited the academy’s swimming pool and observed a swimming competition among trainee police officers.

During the visit, the interior minister encouraged probationers and instructors, inspected the classrooms, officers' mess, and reviewed the quality of food. He held direct discussions with the trainees, listening to their suggestions and feedback.

Minister Naqvi also chaired a key meeting at the academy, where the restructuring of the institution and the implementation of previous decisions were reviewed. The meeting included deliberations on attaching trainees to FIA, forensic agencies, and other institutions for hands-on experience.

During a briefing, the Deputy Commandant of the National Police Academy stated that ASPs completing the National Command Course will be awarded Master’s degrees in Criminology and Police Studies. The training program also includes regular police station visits, and attachments with Safe City, FIA, Cybercrime, and Forensics departments.

Trainee officers expressed their gratitude to Minister Mohsin Naqvi for improving facilities at the National Police Academy.

Senior officials including the deputy commandant, chief commissioner Islamabad, CDA Member Engineering, and other high-ranking officers were present on the occasion.
