ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) does not have public support and wants to win elections using government machinery.

In a statement on social media platform X, Khawaja Asif stated that PTI is ready to contest elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa because it has its own government there and can manipulate the results in its favour. However, in Punjab, PTI is avoiding elections because defeat is certain due to lack of people support.

Taking a jibe at the PTI, Khawaja Asif said that the PTI was ready to contest election where they have power and government while they boycott election where the people chose the winner through their votes.

Khawaja Asif further said that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, they rely on rigging to win the election while in Punjab they don’t have the courage to face the public’s verdict.

He said that the PTI has set its own rules. They only participate in election where they are confident of winning while they boycott election where defeat is certain. They don’t seek to win through public trust but through government machinery.
