Debris cleared and road access restored in Gilgit Baltistan
GILGIT CITY (Dunya News) – Communication services have been restored on Babusar Road with the support of the Special Communications Organization (SCO), according to the provincial government spokesperson.
Flood debris was cleared from eight critical points, reopening the road.
Meanwhile, the district of Ghanche has faced significant damage, with 49 homes destroyed due to severe flooding.
Only the families of two missing persons have contacted authorities so far regarding disappearances along Babusar Road.

Officials hope the actual number of missing individuals remains low.
Full restoration of the road is expected within the next 72 hours.
Rescue and relief efforts have been intensified in Baltistan, Gilgit, and Diamer. Most of the tourists stranded in Fairy Meadows have been safely evacuated.
The provincial spokesperson confirmed that disaster management teams, local administration, tourist police, local citizens, and the Pakistan Army are all actively engaged in ongoing rescue and relief operations.
