Adviser to Prime Minister on Petroleum Dr. Asim Hussain said that the government will obey Supreme Courts decision on carbon surcharge, whereas, he vowed to file review petition on next hearing. He said the decision regarding enforcing the carbon tax was not taken in the drawing room; instead, it was approved by the parliament; however, the verdict of the higher judiciary will be respected. Saudi Arabian government did not give free of cost oil to Pakistan after 2005, he added. Petroleum Dealers Association, on the other hand, demanded that the dealers should be given three-day time in Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notification regarding the decrease in prices of petroleum products. Talking to Dunya News, Abdus Sami Khan Chairman Petroleum Dealers Association said that after the Supreme Court of Pakistan suspended carbon tax, notification for new prices should be enforced after three days.
