Farmers to get tractors under Punjab's grow wheat scheme

Successful farmers will receive 55-horsepower tractors, with delivery starting within three months
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched What Incentive Programme, offering tractors as reward to the farmers.
During the ceremony, CM Maryam Nawaz pressed the button to to initiate the draw and would distribute 1,000 tractors among wheat farmers.
The first tractor was awarded to Kausar Parveen, a woman farmer from Bahawalnagar.
The chief minister congratulated the successful farmers, including Muhammad Iqbal from Jhang and Salman Ahmed from Mandi Bahaudding, extending them best wishes for the abundant wheat harvest.
As many as 57,733 landowners having 12.5 acres applied, out of whom 21,496 were deemed eligible for the draw.
Successful farmers will receive 55-horsepower tractors, with delivery starting within three months.
This year, wheat has been cultivated on 560,00 acres across Punjab under this initiative.
