Says Pakistan committed to continuous engagement with Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special envoy to Afghanistan, Sadiq Khan, met officials of Afghan interim government and discussed issues pertaining to security, banned outfits, economic and trade cooperation and coordination between Islamabad and Kabul.
Taking to social media, the special representative from Pakistan for Afghanistan shared details of his meetings with different Afghan officials and a schedule for further parleys in the neighbouring country.
He met Afghan interim Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi in Kabul.
He said Pakistan was committed to continuous engagement with Afghanistan, adding both the countries were agreed to continue high-level engagements and discussions to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Earlier, a spokesperson for Foreign Office had said special Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq Khan was on an official visit to Afghanistan on the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, adding the purpose of the visit was to discuss Pakistan-Afghanistan bilateral relations.
The spokesperson said that during the visit, he would hold high-level meetings with the Afghan leadership, focusing on recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan and the increasing activities of banned TTP and Daish.
