ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Authorities announced a temporary ban on the entry of heavy vehicles into Islamabad and Rawalpindi from March 22 to March 23 in light of security and traffic management for Pakistan Day celebrations.

According to official directives, all heavy vehicles approaching the twin cities will be stopped at designated checkpoints. Those traveling from Peshawar via GT Road will be stopped at Margalla and Taxila, while vehicles coming via the Motorway will be stopped at Burhan Interchange.

Similarly, heavy vehicles from Lahore using the Motorway will be restricted at Chakri Interchange, whereas those traveling via GT Road will be stopped at Mandra Toll Plaza. Additionally, vehicles coming from Kashmir and Murree will be stopped approximately 20 kilometers before 17 Mile Toll Plaza.

Authorities have advised heavy vehicle owners and drivers to avoid traveling toward the twin cities during the restriction period to prevent inconvenience. Instead, they should plan ahead and find a secure location to park their vehicles until the restriction is lifted.
